THE PATH OF LOVERS IN ASCEA MARINA, TREKKING AND BREATHTAKING VIEWS

The Path of Lovers in Ascea Marina is one of the most popular trekking trails in Cilento. A path almost exclusively made up of steps (rather than steps), offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Velia and Punta del Telegrafo, allowing you to also see Capo Palinuro.

THE PATH OF LOVERS IN ASCEA WHERE IT BEGINS

The Lovers’ Path starts near the cliff of Marina di Ascea, in the locality of Punta del Telegrafo. The Lovers’ Path was inaugurated in 2017 thanks to an important redevelopment work of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park and the Municipality of Ascea. A wooden walkway that you take at the cliff anticipates the entrance. The entrance to the path is visible thanks to a clearly visible sign.

The Lovers’ path is of unique beauty and plunges into the characteristic Mediterranean scrub of Cilento, including quite challenging ups and downs, and then offers breathtaking views.

The Lovers’ Path is about 2 km long and has a total altitude difference of 140 meters. The path is anticipated, as we said, by 12 walkways and 8 wooden platforms that serve to preserve the dunes and the flora of the beach of the Ascea Marina cliff. The path can be faced both by those who love trekking and by tourists who want to enjoy an enchanting view of the Gulf of Velia. To reach the bottom of the path there are two important climbs, made up of steps, and relative descents. There are two panoramic points, one for each ascent. The views, entering the Mediterranean scrub of Cilento, are enchanting. When you reach the top, however, you will be delighted by a postcard view.

The final destination of the Lovers’ Path is the Saracen tower, known as the Telegraph Tower. Once you have reached your destination you have to go backwards to be able to return again to the fantastic beach of Ascea Marina.

The Municipality of Ascea is thinking of a new stretch to be able to close the Lovers’ route in a loop. Change that would make the path even more suggestive.
